Before getting into a car, you must check the blind spots that cannot be seen from the driver’s seat.
Blind spots from the driver's seat
Approach the car from the front, walk along the passenger side, check around the back, and then move toward the driver’s door.
Before opening the door, look carefully (and quickly) both ahead and behind, then enter the car quickly.
Always do this without disturbing other traffic or pedestrians.
